Front End Developer – HTML / CSS - Canberra and Sydney

This is an opportunity for a highly skilled HTML and CSS developer with a passion for digital to join our team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Being fully involved in projects from beginning to end and advising on user interface best practices to meet the client’s requirements.

Liaising with the designers and technical developers in the project team to ensure the objectives of the projects are met.
Developing HTML and CSS templates and prototypes, that are both usable and accessible across all common browsers.
Content styling and layouts with the support of our designers.

We are looking for someone who is keen to develop their skills and we will offer you every opportunity to develop in your career. You will need to:

Be happy talking to clients about HTML, CSS and online best practices
Be able to accurately estimate timescales for production of HTML and CSS code
Produce high quality HTML and CSS code that validates and meets WCAG 2.0 guidelines.

In addition:

Photoshop abilities and knowledge of JavaScript (including associated libraries such as jQuery) are desirable.
Flash design and coding skills, and experience of working with third party content management systems would be an advantage.
Interest and/or knowledge in mobile applications would be an advantage.

Mobile Application Developer

The successful application developer will have demonstrable commercial experience in mobile application development and show an enthusiasm for technology and new challenges. Experience of other technologies such as .NET, Java, PHP or ColdFusion development would be highly beneficial. As a member of the team you will also advise others on best practice and programming advice and act as an internal point of contact for technical queries and advice. You will capture technical requirements from clients and work with a mixed project team of developers, designers and producer staff to ensure that those requirements are adequately documented and ultimately fulfilled.

Responsibilities:

To work with designers and front end and project management staff to capture requirements for the functional elements of website projects.
To liaise with clients and with other internal teams.
To evaluate and communicate on a regular basis the resources, timescales and technical limitations associated with implementation with the project manager and with the client.
To ensure that all work carried out complies with standards and guidelines.
To test and validate work produced as part of the development process.
To ensure that all work carried out is well-documented, and that the documentation is accessible to relevant parties.
To keep abreast of developments in technology and computing in areas pertinent to projects, the company, and clients.

Extensive experience in:

Mobile development across multiple projects of varying technical requirements
Android and iOS application development experience
HTML 5 and JavaScript application development

Experience and skills required:

Educated to degree level in a technical area
An attention to detail, rigor and willingness to take responsibility for all work and code produced.
Ability to work within a team and to apply systematic thinking to the resolution of problems in a highly creative environment.
Ability to meet challenging deadlines
A demonstrable willingness and aptitude to learn and develop skills.
An understanding of business issues

You will be working with a variety of clients and have responsibility for all client issues and for managing client expectations.

Responsibilities will include a mixture of New Business and Account Management tasks including:
• Building excellent relationships at a variety of client levels and being a strategic partner to your clients in their digital activity
• Ensuring profitable delivery of work through effective cross-business/department relationships and processes
• Ensuring quality and timeliness of work delivered to clients
• Leading new business development
• Working on proposals and pitches to convert these leads into new clients
• Management of new clients into profitable, repeat business
• Creating new business opportunities within an existing client base
