Systems Administrator- Sydney, Brisbane or Canberra

Systems Administrator with solid commercial experience, excellent communication skills, and a strong customer service focus required to join our prestigious New Media Agency with offices in Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, and the UK.

Responsibilities include:

- Providing out of hours support for the UK office. This will involve monitoring the UK and assessing when things need to be done / being on the phone to the UK and handing over at the end of every day
- Dealing with support issues both on the UK out of hours period and for the team in Australia. This will involve: Setting up servers, managing hosting environments and our email, etc
- Managing our hardware and software requirements and auditing what we have already.
- Implementing standards and procedures for Australia based on the UK’s IT set up.
- Supplier liaison for hardware and software purchases
- Advising management of necessary upgrades and requirements
- Advising on capacity planning for Australian equipment and services

This role could be based in Sydney, Brisbane, or Canberra. As we are an international company there may be an opportunity to travel within the role and you should be prepared to go to the UK for training in the initial period.

Account Director- Canberra or Brisbane

You will be working with a variety of clients and have responsibility for all client issues and for managing client expectations.

Responsibilities will include a mixture of New Business and Account Management tasks including:
• Building excellent relationships at a variety of client levels and being a strategic partner to your clients in their digital activity
• Ensuring profitable delivery of work through effective cross-business/department relationships and processes
• Ensuring quality and timeliness of work delivered to clients
• Leading new business development
• Working on proposals and pitches to convert these leads into new clients
• Management of new clients into profitable, repeat business
• Creating new business opportunities within an existing client base

You will be:

• A team player, fun, irreverent, happy to muck in, ambitious, passionate, honest, sparky, energetic

You will not be:

• Political, defensive, insular, egotistical

We’re looking for ambitious, switched on people with experience liaising with clients, building relationships and managing expectations, and co-ordinating with internal teams. You should have significant experience working on either traditional or digital projects. You will have excellent writing, presentation and organisational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities. You will also have proven success and experience at pitching and business development.

Due to exciting growth in our Australian client base, we currently have an opening for an expert .NET developer to join our Brisbane office.

Do you have what it takes to join the Reading Room crew? The available position requires that you will have:

Demonstrated commercial experience in C# and ASP.NET.
Knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, and CSS, and show an enthusiasm for the technology and new challenges.
Experience with PHP, ColdFusion and JSP would be beneficial.
Experience in web development across multiple projects of varying technical requirements
Good experience in database design across multiple projects
A degree in a technical area (or similar level qualification).
An attention to detail, rigor and willingness to take responsibility for all work and code produced.
Ability to meet challenging deadlines.
An ability to work independently on the technical element of projects.

As a developer at Reading Room, your job will entail developing digital functionality and Content Management Systems used by client websites; capturing technical requirements from clients; and working with a mixed project team of developers, designers and production staff to ensure that those requirements are adequately documented and ultimately fulfilled.
