The Edge – Digital Culture Centre – Launch weekend
1st March 2010
Right on our doorstep in Brisbane is a brand new initiative from The State Library of Queensland called The Edge.
Never ones to say no to a party and an excuse to leave the office a bit early, we came down for a look and a beer or three on Friday night. The space is amazing, it’s located at Brisbane’s Cultural Centre at Southbank. The river front window bays provide an excellent area for people to get together and are kitted out with projectors, screens, speaker systems, iPod docks and softwired tables. Then there are the media labs, full of shiny new equipment that most people could only dream of getting their hands on. And it’s really easy to get access to it all you just have to sign up and it’s free!
As it’s all new, programs and workshops will be developed according to demand. Based on the quality of the Launch Weekend – In Conversation talks we have no doubt these will be excellent.
The place has a great buzz and you may well find us at The Edge when we need some creative inspiration or just feeling like hanging out with the cool kids.
